When the Monsoon Arrives
July in Delhi brings with it a welcome change.
After weeks of scorching heat, the first showers arrive almost like a blessing. The scent of wet earth rises from parks and pavements, trees appear greener, and dark clouds finally offer relief from the relentless summer sun.
Schools have reopened, and life has returned to its familiar rhythm. For students of Classes 10, 11, and 12, July marks the beginning of serious academic engagement. New chapters, projects, coaching classes, and extracurricular activities once again become part of daily life, while parents adjust to the demands of the new term.
Yet July is not merely about responsibilities.
It is the month of umbrellas and steaming cups of tea. Of unexpected downpours, conversations over pakoras, and moments when the city pauses briefly under a curtain of rain.
Perhaps that is what the monsoon teaches us:
that renewal often comes quietly. Just as the rain revives tired trees and thirsty soil, we too can find fresh energy after periods of exhaustion. Progress does not always require rushing ahead. Sometimes, growth begins with patience, consistency, and the willingness to start again.
For students, parents, and all who call Delhi home, July offers a gentle reminder to embrace both work and wonder. Because every season carries its own lessons—and sometimes, hope arrives in the form of clouds gathering over the city sky.
