Rampant Selling Of Pigeon Meat Continues As Residents Fights Asthmatic Problems Caused By Pigeons

An update on the triangle. It was inaugurated by AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj with a lot of pomp and show. However, from the next day, again the pigeons have swooped down with a vengeance! Why? Because our beloved citizens who are totally blinded by superstitions, still haven’t tired of throwing grains even on the parapets of the walls!

And now all the potted plants have vanished after the inauguration and the area looks barren as ever !! Have the potted plants been stolen or have they been removed by the authorities? Was it just put there for the inauguration ?

The spreading of daal and grains has increased from before !! Who are these people who come and spread these jute bags full of feed ? What do they gain from it ? It seems that they do it to attract pigeons so that they can sell pigeon meat to the public demanding it !  Are our triangles business premises for these pigeon meat meat sellers ? It is an open secret now that pigeon meat is being sold rampantly on the triangles !!! And the authorities are turning a blind eye to this menace and a deaf ear to the request of residents of the 6 surrounding suffering colonies!

The bags full of moong daal that is being spread on the parapet might feed the mal-nourished kids visiting the Government hospitals, says Dr Manisha Kukreja of GK Enclave 1. It hurts to see so much wastage when the lower income group in the vicinity are suffering from shortage of protein in their diet ! The blind superstitious people are thoughtlessly  promoting the meat selling business being run from the triangles.

Can this attitude of spoiling anything and everything in our country be stopped only by punishment?  Don’t we see a similar plight with all our monuments, historic places, relics and museums? Absolutely,  no respect for anything that belongs to us or is our heritage. Why go so far, everyday, we show such blatant disrespect for our system, - by flouting traffic rules, bribing government officials, damaging public property and littering our streets. And then, we comfortably blame our government for not doing anything. What are we as citizens supposed to do for our country? Spoil our buildings, heritage and property randomly? Is this the first citizen’s responsibility?
