The residents of K Block religiously practice Yoga and Pranayam at the Central park every morning, under the guidance of Ashok Kr Srivastav. Outdoor classes add a different dimension to one's practice and brings yoga down to its original link with nature. "Yoga means 'union,' and when it is practiced outdoors, the union with nature, humanity, and the universe is truly felt," says Ashok Srivastav . Practicing Yoga in the morning , in the lap of nature rejuvenates you with oxygen and prepares you for the days' activities. Instead of exercising in the close confines of the gym , it is much better to take a morning walk and practice Pranayam and Yoga in the open park.
Being outside can intensify the yoga experience in many ways, since nature inspires all the things you try to emulate—focusing awareness, breathing deeply and practicing stillness.
Ayama means to control or to give a rhythm or a definite flow. In this sense Pranayama may be defined as a process and technique through which vital energy can be stimulated and increased: and this brings about perfect control over the flow of Prana within the body.
Doing Pranayam in the fresh morning air cures the human body of many ailments, says Mr Srivastav. It purifies all the nerves in our body, strengthens five pranas, adjusts the energy flow in our body, improves memory and concentration. If this is practiced regularly, then it can cure high BP, insomnia, stress, migraine, paralysis, nervous weakness and heart diseases. Apart from strengthening the immune system it also prevents the disease of cancer by oxygenating the blood.
Thus motivated, the residents of K block enjoy practising Pranayam and Yoga in the fresh morning air and the lush green Central Park.
