The Decks Are Cleared And It's Time For The Shuffles; Time For The Aces, Kings, Queens And The Jokers

Anindita Roy in an interview with Suyash Prakash, 47 Hemkunt Colony, New Delhi (9871795322)

Bridge is by far the greatest card game of all, and it can provide immense mental challenge and enjoyment for the rest of your life, says Suyash Prakash,  47 Hemkunt. A retired IAS Office, he enjoys a game of bridge on the internet as he has no companions to play bridge with. Suyash Prakash retired from Government of Delhi as Director Training of Civil Servants. Selected for civil services in 1976, he came to Delhi. His passions are reading books on self-science, philosophy and fiction .He loves playing a game of bridge which he learnt from some fellow officers and he also plays an occasional game of golf in the Qutub Golf Course.
Bridge is the card game derived from whist, through the earlier variants of  bridge whist and auction bridge. The essential features of all bridge games, as of whist, are that four persons play, two against two as partners; a standard 52-card deck of playing cards is dealt out one at a time, clockwise around the table, so that each player holds 13 cards; and the object of play is to win tricks, each trick consisting of one card played by each player. Another feature is that one suit may be designated the trump suit (i.e., any card in that suit may take any card of the other suits), but the methods of designating the trump suit (or of determining that a deal will be played without trumps) differ in the various bridge games.

The World Bridge Federation is the international governing body of Bridge. The WBF is responsible for world championship competition, most of which is conducted at a few multi-event meets on a four-year cycle. The most prestigious championships are those for national teams in Open, Women, and Seniors categories: the Bermuda Bowl , Venice Cup and Senior Bowl (jointly the biennial "World Teams Championships"), and the quadrennial World Team Olympiads, incorporated in the World Mind Sports Games

Suyash Prakash is on the lookout for some people who can play bridge with him and he is ready to teach them even , free of cost if they want to learn the game and play with him. Patience, concentration, logical thought and retentive powers are among qualities a bridge player brings to the table and the cerebral jousts can be very addictive, he says. One can even become a member of the Delhi Bridge Association and also play in bridge tournaments. Various pairs events also take place in many clubs of Delhi and one can enjoy participating in those events once you have learnt to play a game of bridge.

I wish that a good team of bridge players is established at Hemkunt and its vicinity , and people can benefit under the guidance of Suyash Prakash.
