Dr. Anindita Roy is a multidisciplinary design educator with
over 18 years of experience spanning design education, creative mentoring,
heritage studies, interior design, fashion, computer-aided design and
experiential learning. Her teaching philosophy combines creativity, technology,
research, culture and industry exposure to prepare students for the rapidly
evolving creative professions.
Beginning her professional career in the corporate sector,
Dr. Roy later pursued her passion for design by completing a Diploma in
Interior Design & Display, an Architectural CAD specialization, and
subsequently advanced her academic journey through a Ph.D., a Master of Human
Resource Management, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cultural Informatics
(IGNCA, Ministry of Culture). She has further enriched her expertise through
certifications in Creative Thinking & Design Development (NIFT), Heritage
Studies, Conservation of Arts & Artefacts, Heritage Storytelling, and
AI-enabled digital teaching tools.
Current Academic Engagements
Dr. Roy is presently associated with:

the GEMM (Garment Export Merchandising & Management) programme.

Throughout her career, Dr. Roy has taught across leading

Experiential Learning.

Earlier in her career, while serving at CADD Centre, Hauz
Khas, she trained students from Architecture, Interior Design, Civil
Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in Computer Aided Design. She also
conducted specialized CAD/CAM training programmes for DMRC and BHEL engineers.
She later headed the Interior Design & Styling
Department at the London School of Trends, where she played an active role in
curriculum delivery, student mentoring and industry engagement.

national competitions where many have received awards and recognition.
International Exposure
As part of an Indo-French academic exchange initiative, Dr.
Roy was invited by the Government of France in December 2010 to visit premier
design institutions across Paris and its suburbs. The experience provided
valuable exposure to European design pedagogy and international academic
practices.
She further expanded her global perspective through
participation in the London Design Festival (2019), exploring contemporary
innovations in architecture, interiors, product design and creative
technologies.
An avid traveller, she consciously studies the local art,
architecture, crafts and design culture of every destination she visits,
bringing these insights back into her classroom.
Heritage Education
Dr. Roy is deeply involved in heritage education and
experiential learning. She regularly curates and leads heritage walks for
schools, colleges and private groups, helping participants understand India's
architectural legacy, traditional crafts and cultural narratives.
Her work aligns closely with the vision of NEP 2020,
encouraging students to appreciate local history, art, craft and built heritage
through immersive learning experiences.

One of Dr. Roy's strongest contributions lies in mentoring
aspiring designers.
